Claude Code keeps responding with very long, technical explanations even for simple questions. A new team member prefers concise responses. What is the best way to address this without affecting other users?
Answer: Add a brevity instruction to the user-level CLAUDE.md in ~/.claude/
User-level CLAUDE.md at ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md applies only to that user and persists across sessions, making it the right place for personal prompting style preferences. Editing the shared project CLAUDE.md would affect all teammates. Temperature is not a user-configurable setting in Claude Code. /compact manages context window size, not response verbosity.
